Moderna (2 doses)
Date First Dose of Vaccine was Received: December 31, 2020
Have you received both doses of the vaccine? Yes
What was your overall experience getting vaccinated (was it easily accessible, did you have to wait a long time, etc.) I have a pleasant experience getting vaccinated. Because of my occupation, I was in the phase 1A group and was eligible to get vaccinated right the way
Did you experience any side effects? If so, what were your symptoms and how long did you experience symptoms? After the 1st injection, I did feel a little light-headed within the 5 min. But then it went away. Other than the sore arm from the injection, the whole experience was pretty like after getting a flu shot. No severe reaction after the first shot. After the 2nd shot, for the first 12 hours, nothing happened. However, after that, then I started to get fever up to 101F. I experienced chills frequently and body aches from the 12th hour to the 24th hour. I took a few pills of Tylenol and took a longer nap and then all the symptoms subsided.
Why did you decide to get vaccinated? Because of my occupation which is at high risk for contracting the disease
Any additional thoughts or advice for people who have concerns about the COVID-19 vaccine? One should try to take a day or two off after taking the vaccination, especially after the 2nd shot.

The start of this platform was motivated by the immense hesitation regarding the recent development of the COVID-19 vaccine. As a college student at the University of California, Irvine studying public health sciences, I felt inclined to do my part and educate people on the vaccine so more people are willing to get vaccinated and aren't taught false information regarding the vaccine and its effects.
