Date First Dose of Vaccine was Received: December 17, 2020
Have you received both doses of the vaccine? Yes
What was your overall experience getting vaccinated (was it easily accessible, did you have to wait a long time, etc.) Got it at work, scheduled an appointment online and was able to walk right in to get it. Essentially painless injection (much better than a flu shot). Stayed outside vaccination area for 15 min after vaccine as directed to watch for signs of reaction. No problems.
Did you experience any side effects? If so, what were your symptoms and how long did you experience symptoms? Side effects only after second dose. Fever, muscle aches, tired on the day following the dose. Controlled with Tylenol. Lasted 24 hours.
Why did you decide to get vaccinated? For my own safety and that of my patients. Also, in hopes of being able to see my parents again.
Any additional thoughts or advice for people who have concerns about the COVID-19 vaccine? The impact of this virus has been devastating, and it continues to spread rapidly. The potential risk and discomfort of vaccination is absolutely worth it to keep one another safe and get back to something resembling our normal lives.

Any additional thoughts or advice for people who have concerns about the COVID-19 vaccine? The vaccine is 90+% effective, and people may be skeptical that it’s not 100%, but ofc everyone’s bodies are different and even the flu vaccine is only ~70% effective! Also, it is absurd to have a chip in the vaccine, considering it can’t be that small and the government is already monitoring us through social media, so there’s no reason to be scared...
The start of this platform was motivated by the immense hesitation regarding the recent development of the COVID-19 vaccine. As a college student at the University of California, Irvine studying public health sciences, I felt inclined to do my part and educate people on the vaccine so more people are willing to get vaccinated and aren't taught false information regarding the vaccine and its effects.
